STURGIS, Mich – Investigators with the Sturgis Police Department say 4 people have been arrested after a string of shootings on Tuesday that left two homes and several vehicles damaged.

The suspects are two 16-year-old males, a 17-year-old male and a 32-year-old male.  All are facing multiple charges including Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle and Malicious Destruction of Property more than $20,000.

Sturgis Director of Public Safety Geoff Smith thanked the community for supplying several tips which helped lead to the arrests.

“The expeditious investigation of this case is due to the level of cooperation that is experienced between our community and the department,” said Smith in a press release.  “From the initial 911 call until the arrest of the fourth suspect, Sturgis Officers and the staff worked around the clock to identify and apprehend the suspects as quickly as possible.”

The incidents happened early Tuesday morning in the 300 block of west Congress Street.

Officers found that multiple shots had been fired into a home, narrowly missing the residents and their child.  A second residence was found to have been shot at as well and several vehicles also had been shot at.

A surveillance image of a truck believed to be tied to the shooting was also released by investigators shortly after the shootings to help generate tips.
