28-year-old Lawton man dies in weekend crash
PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The driver of a car that struck a tree at an intersection in Van Buren County died Saturday morning. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Lawton, was the only occupant of the car.
Investigators believe speed was a factor when the driver’s 2005 Hyundai left the road and hit a tree at the t-intersection of 32nd Street at County Road 669. The car was northbound on 32nd Street.
The crash was discovered by another driver who came upon the scene around 7:53 a.m. Saturday.
The name of the dead driver was not released pending notification of family.
