Arrests made following armed robbery plot at a Motel 6

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Three people are facing charges following an alleged armed robbery early Monday morning.

It happened at a Motel 6 located in the area of 28th Street and Patterson SE.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said the victim responded to an online ad  through ‘BackPage’ and showed up at the motel where the vicitm agreed to meet two people.

Once inside the room, the victim met 17-year-old Monee Atkinson and a 15-year-old girl. The victim was unaware 18-year-old Travin Lewis was hiding around the corner with an air soft pistol. Police say the victim was forced to drive to an ATM and withdraw $300 to give to the suspects  before dropping them off back at the motel.

All three suspects were apprehended and are cooperating with authorities.
