Andy Parker, the father of slain WDBJ reporter Alison Parker, says he won’t rest until it’s more difficult for people with mental issues to purchase guns.

Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward were gunned down Wednesday morning while reporting live outside Moneta, Virginia.

“Well her life was cut short,” Andy Parker said.  “She had so much potential and it’s senseless that her life and Adam’s life were taken by a crazy person with a gun,” he said. “If I have to be the John Walsh of gun control, and look I’m for second amendment, but there has to be a way to force politicians that are cowards and in the pockets of the NRA to come to grips and make sense.. have sensible laws so that crazy people can’t get guns.”

The suspected gunman, Vester L. Flanagan II, was a former WDBJ employee.  He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

ABC News reported that it received a fax containing a 23-page manifesto from someone named Bryce Williams, Flanagan’s on-air name.
