LANSING, Mich. – Lt. Governor Brian Calley has announced the election dates to fill the spots of recently expelled Representative Cindy Gamrat and the resigned Representative Todd Courser.

A primary election will be held to fill the spots in the 80th and 82nd Districts on Nov. 3, 2015 and the general election will be March 8, 2016.  The Lt. Governor’s release says that the spots will be filled as quickly as possible “while minimizing costs to local communities and taxpayers.”

The 80th District where Gamrat was previously the representative is the Plainwell area of SW Michigan.  Courser represented the 82nd District, which is in Lapeer, Michigan.

Candidates who want to be on the November 3 primary ballot must file by next Friday, Sept. 18 at 4:00 p.m. with the Secretary of State.
