GRANDVILLE, Mich. — The Michigan State Police bomb squad was called in to check on a “suspicious package” left at the Grandville Post Office.

Grandville police say that they received a call from a passerby at around 7:30 AM Saturday morning to report a suspicious suitcase sitting outside the Grandville Post Office, which is located at 2939 Wilson Avenue, near Chicago Drive.

For safety, nearby businesses were closed and train travel was stopped due to the train tracks running very close to the scene.

At around 9 AM. the Michigan State Police bomb squad was sent to investigate the package. It was revealed that the suitcase was filled with clothes and that no explosives were found in the package or around the area.

Nearby shopping centers have been re-opened and train travel resumes.
