CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three Cascade Township businesses were broken into overnight and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was stolen, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

Panopoulos Salon, Vandenberg Jewelers and Kim’s Cleaners in the 6700 block of Cascade Road SE were broken into sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Police say the suspected thieves broke into the salon and the cleaning business so they could get into the jewelry store.  Officials say a wall at Kim’s Cleaners was damaged so the suspects could get inside Vandenberg Jewelers.

Once they were inside, the thieves stole a safe and broke into another one, officials said.   There was no alarm inside the salon and officials say the thieves smashed alarms in the other two businesses and they didn’t go off.  The alarm company is reportedly investigating why, according to a release.

The suspects also stole a video security system before leaving the businesses.  No suspect descriptions were provided.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call the Kent County Sheriff’s Department at 616-632-6125.
