Algoma Township man hurt after farm tractor accident

ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an accident involving a  farm tractor.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the 2,000 block of 14 Mile Road NE.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said Bruce Hoom, 67, was removing a tree while riding a tractor when it began to fall towards him. Hoom jumped from the tractor, but his legs were pinned under the rear tractor tire.

Police said his wife was able to move the tractor and free his legs.
