BETHESDA, Md. — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announce new recalls this week, that could impact your backyard relaxation time, and your children’s backyard play sets.

Below is the information on these two recent recalls.

Rainbow Play Systems Plastic Trapeze Rings — The rings can unexpectedly crack or break during use, posing a fall hazard to children.  About 121,000 pairs of rings are impacted in the U.S.  Rainbow has received more than 100 reports of the rings cracking or breaking including 15 with reports of injuries consisting of bumps, bruises, lacerations, concussion and one broken finger.  Consumers should immediately stop children from using the recalled rings, contact Rainbow for ring removal instructions, then remove the rings from the play set and receive a $10 gift card. Destination Summer Hammock Stands — Z-shaped hooks that attach the hammock to the hammock stand can bend or break, resulting in a consumer falling to the ground.  About 13,900 are impacted in the U.S.  The recalled hammock stand was sold under the Bed Bath & Beyond Destination Summer private label.  The firm has received 13 reports of the z-shaped hooks bending or breaking, resulting in consumers falling to the ground and injuring various body parts.  Replacement heavier-duty hooks are available.  Click here for more information.
