GEORGETOWN TWP, Mich. — One person was injured in a four vehicle chain collision Saturday afternoon at the intersection of 40th Ave and Port Sheldon Rd.

Ottawa County Sheriffs say that Michael Gwasdacus, 52, of Hudsonville was driving a truck westbound down Port Sheldon Road when he became distracted by his cell phone and rear- ended into the stopped vehicle ahead of him driven by Willard Vaness, 41, also from Hudsonvile.

Vaness’ vehicle was stopped behind two others at a stoplight at the time of impact. His car hit the car ahead of him, which then rear-ended the car at the very  front.

Vaness suffered neck and back pain and was transported to Holland Community Hospital by ambulance. He was the only one injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
