ROCKFORD, Mich. -- A West Michigan organization is providing aid for a New Orleans woman 10 years after Hurricane Katrina.

Kim Castle lost her home to the hurricane and has been trying ever to get it fixed ever since.  After dishonest contractors took her for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and never did the work.

Castle was left with no resources and little hope, until River Rock Church in Rockford made it possible for her to go home again.   The group met her while on an earlier trip to New Orleans.

"They told me that God put it on their hearts to see me through my misery," Castle said.

The church group is heading to New Orleans at the end of November for two weeks, and they will work 14 hour days to rebuild Castle's home.  On Monday night there is a fundraiser to start collecting the money they will need to rebuild her home.

It starts at 7 p.m. at River Rock Church,  6060 Belding Rd. NE. If you'd like to make a donation clickhere.
