NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. -- A deer broke into a house in North Muskegon on Thursday morning and caused quite a spectacle. A woman came to the North Muskegon fire department at roughly 9 a.m.Thursday and said there was a deer in the upstairs bedroom of her home, said Steve Lague, chief of the North Muskegon Fire Department.

"Of course, they were asking if we wanted to shoot it," said Lague, "and we thought, If it's upstairs and we can coax it downstairs, it's gonna run out and go towards the watershed, and we'll be fine."

Firefighters went to the residence and coaxed the deer downstairs and it eventually left.  A video shows the frightened animal and a small blood trail after it apparently bit its lip and hurt its nose.

Officials with the North Muskegon Fire Department say the deer got inside the home through the woman's garage while she was getting groceries.

The deer's injuries were minor, and no humans were injured in the incident.
