BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police are cleaning up the scene of an accident that happened on Columbia near M-66 that possibly had a driver ejected from their car.

Westbound Columbia Rd. near M-66 is closed and eastbound Columbia is down to one lane. Police advise that drivers avoid this area until at least 8 PM.

A little after 3 PM, police say that an eastbound Ford Mustang attempted to pass other cars when the driver lost control, struck the median, and crossed into oncoming traffic. This resulted in the Mustang colliding with a Suzuki sedan.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found the driver of the Mustang laying on the ground. The driver of the Suzuki was still in the car. Police believe that the Mustang driver may have been ejected from his car.

The Mustang driver was taken to Bronson Kalamazoo Hospital, and the driver of the Suzuki taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, both by ambulance. Their conditions aren’t known at this time.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor.
