GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Eight Grand Rapids parks were transformed this year after a voter-approved park millage went into effect.  Now the planning for the next six parks begins.

The next six parks for transformation are Campau, Camelot, Douglas, Dickinson, Mary Waters and Mulick.

The parks that went through the transformation this summer were Cherry, Fuller, Garfield, Highland, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Westown Commons and Wilcox.  The .98 millage was passed in November of 2013.

The meetings will be held to get neighborhood input and create plans with local designers.  They will be held:

Mary Waters Park – Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6:00pm at Belknap Commons Health Center, 751 Lafayette NE

Mulick Park – Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7:00pm at Mulick Park Elementary School, 1761 Rosewood SE

Douglas Park – Monday, Oct. 19 at 7:00pm at Rockford Construction, 601 First Street NW

Dickinson Park – Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2:00pm at the park near the basketball court. If weather is bad, it will be at the Boys & Girls Club at 139 Crofton

More meetings will be announced later.
