WHITEHALL, Mich. — White Lake Fire Authority rescued an iguana that climbed up a tree and refused to come down.

Fire officials say that Saturday afternoon, a Whitehall resident had his pet iguana outside when it decided to climb up a tree 40-45 feet tall on Spring Street. The owner says that the iguana wouldn’t come down, so he called the fire department to get it down.

White Lake Fire was deployed and within 40 minutes, brought the reptile down to its owner.
