WEST MICHIGAN — It seems we’ve been on a comfortable ride temperature-wise the last few weeks with most days being fairly mild. We’ve got one more beautiful warm day on Monday with readings expected at 70 or better, but sharply cooler weather is on the way.
By Tuesday our high temperatures will be running only in the mid/upper 50s with the air coming across Lake Michigan being cold enough to generate some lake-effect and lake-enhanced cloud cover and light rain showers.
We should get back to some sunshine Wednesday with temps around 60 or so, but a few rain showers are possible Thursday night in to Friday morning before more reinforcing cooler air arrives. By Saturday and Sunday high temps are only expected to be in the low/mid 50s! That said, it’s also possible our first FREEZE could be coming Friday night in to Saturday morning with lows dropping in to the low/mid 30s.
Of course there’s always Indian Summer…which is defined as a stretch of dry (usually three days or more), warmer-than-average temperatures (usually 70 or better) that we generally experience in late October/early November. Keep in mind Indian Summer occurs AFTER the first widespread frost/freeze which we haven’t had yet!
