DETROIT, Mich. – Twelve people have been arrested, accused of being pimps, and 19 underage victims have been rescued after a joint operation called Operation Cross Country IX.
The effort was led by the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Assisting in the arrests were the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Michigan Attorney General, the Wayne County Prosecutor and Michigan State Police.
The arrests were announced Tuesday in Detroit. The FBI says that the Detroit operation was among the most successful human trafficking busts in the country.
