MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A team of heroes and local celebrities played a game of basketball Sunday night to fight for an end child abuse. It was a match between the Harlem Ambassadors and the Heroes for Kids at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Local celebrities like FOX 17's Mike Avery and Muskegon County Prosecutor D. J. Hilson teamed up for an epic game against the Ambassadors. Both teams played for the common cause of raising money for the Child Abuse Council of Muskegon County.

Harlem Ambassador's Patric Massey said these events give kids a chance to have fun while addressing darker issues like child abuse.

"It's not an obligation but a calling, and I had to give back to the people and the community," said Massey. "We're no different than anyone else."

The Child Abuse Council serves roughly 20,000 kids each year, educating youth on topics like personal safety and conflict management. Organizers said events like these shine a much needed light on a darker problem while giving families a chance to have a night of fun.
