Man charged in crash that killed MSP trooper Chad Wolf issues statement

CLARKSTON, Mich. — The man charged in the fatal crash that killed Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Wolf is encouraging people to continue donating money to the trooper’s family.

Raymond Warren Jr. issued that statement through his attorney, according to FOX 2 in Detroit. The statement reads:

Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Wolf tragically passed away on August 28, 2015. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Chad Wolf, his family and friends every day since this tragedy.

My family and I appreciate all of those who have reached out to Chad Wolf’s family and to my family. We ask that you please continue to donate to the GoFundMe page that has been set up for the Chad Wolf family.

Warren was charged Oct. 23 with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death in connection with the Aug. 28 crash.    Wolfwas on patrol on his motorcycle on that morning when he was hit by a vehicle pulling a trailer on Dixie Highway, near I-75.

According to FOX 2, the 38-year-old trooper was a married father of four.  So far, a GoFundMe page in his name has raised more than $187,000 in donations.
