GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – New Holland Brewing is getting $2.1 million from the state of Michigan for a building project on Grand Rapids’ west side.

The MEDC grant is for redeveloping the area of 405 Bridge Street NW with two mixed-use buildings.  The current site has a closed gas station and a closed adult movie theater.

The brewery plans on a 40,000 square foot brewpub, distillery and restaurant and hopes to be open in the fall of 2016.  The facility will be called “Knickerbocker – Brewpub and Distillery” and will feature an outdoor bar and beer garden.  They say they will anticipate hiring 150 new employees.

New Holland Brewery has been in Holland for 19 years.  The groundbreaking will be in November.
