GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The organizer of a cycling event in Grand Rapids over the weekend says he’ll find a new park for next year.

Nate Phelps told FOX 17 that the Fall Fury CX cycling event that was held in Wilcox Park will likely move out of the city of Grand Rapids next year.  Neighbors complained that the event caused damage to the grass in the park.  Phelps’ group is working to repair the damages to the park.

Phelps says that a local township has reached out to him following the complaints to invite the event to their area.  He was not able to name the township at this time.

He also says that they would likely have been moving the event from Wilcox Park due to a lack of parking.  He says he’d like to keep the event in the Grand Rapids area.
