HARRISVILLE, R.I. — The owners of a Rhode Island farmhouse featured in the 2013 horror film “The Conjuring” are suing Warner Bros., claiming the film has left them with no privacy.

Norma Sutcliffe told WPRO that she and her husband are kept awake at night by trespassers who peer into their home. Videos posted online show trespassers visiting the home without the couple’s knowledge.

The couple is now suing Warner Bros., claiming the film has caused them nothing but problems since its release.

Sutcliffe told WPRO no one from the movie studio approached her or her husband prior to making the movie about their home. The film included the real names of the home’s previous owners, making it easy for fans to find the home.

“The movie industry just didn’t care,” Sutcliffe told WPRO. “It really, really has taken away our entire sense of peace [and] privacy.”

The couple is asking Warner Bros. to cover the costs of a security system to help them feel safe on their property. The couple is also seeking unspecified monetary damages, according to WHDH.

Warner Bros. spokesman Paul Maguire told The Associated Press he had not seen the lawsuit.
