Deputy shot with crossbow released from hospital

Deputy Mike Kotenko

STANTON, Mich. – The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office reports that the deputy shot earlier this month with a crossbow has been released from the hospital.

Deputy Mike Kotenko was shot on Friday, October 9th while deputies and an officer from the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post were serving an arrest warrant for felony charges at a home in the 8000 block of Townline Road.  The suspect, Travis Quay, was then shot by officers and was killed.

Kotenko is expected to make a full recovery. The family also is expressing their gratitude to the public for their support of Kotenko.
