Recall notice: Child bicycle trailers, and children’s water bottles

BETHESDA, Md. — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced two new recalls that may impact parents of young children.

Below is the information on these most recent recalls.

Recalled water bottle

Pottery Barn Kids ‘Avengers’ and Darth Vader Themed Water Bottles — The gray paint on the metal portion of the water bottle can contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.  About 15,200 units are impacted.  No injuries have been reported.  Consumers should immediately take the recalled water bottles from children and return them to the nearest Pottery Barn Kids store or contact the firm’s toll-free number for free shipping information. Consumers will have the option of a full refund or replacement water bottle, plus a $20 Pottery Barn Kids gift card.  Click here for more information on this recall.

Recalled child bike trailer

Burley Design child bicycle trailers — Trailers with black plastic tow bar receivers can separate from the tow bar when they appear to be connected, posing a crash hazard to the child in the trailer.  About 34,000 units are impacted.  Burley Design has received 35 reports of trailers with black plastic tow bar receivers separating from the tow bar, including two incidents that resulted in abrasions to a child.  You can get a free repair kit and a 20% discount, just click here for more information on the recall.
