After you've made your shot, your work is only halfway done sometimes. Now you have to track your trophy buck.
Merle Shoemaker from Al & Bob's Sports gave us tips to follow.
Deer shot with an arrow will usually travel a minimum of 50 yards through heavy brush. You need to start tracking right after your shot.
Some hunters will a GPS or a smartphone app made specifically for hunting, but tracking, sometimes toilet paper works well to make your trail. It is biodegradable and easy to see with a flashlight.
After your shot, you can also give the deer about an hour to expire. It may lead to less tracking, but also bring your bow in case you need another shot.
But mostly, bring your patience.
