WEST MICHIGAN-  A busy weekend is in store for us for the final weekend in October and that, of course, includes Halloween.  Unfortunately for all your trick or treaters, it looks like Mother Nature may not fully cooperate with that “perfect” weather many of us may be looking for.

A look at Future Track HD shows that temperatures will be near 50 degrees by the afternoon, but widespread rain is probable.  Winds out of the south at 10-15 mph will make it feel slightly cooler than the air temperature as well.

As you note from the graphic above, nearly 3 hours go by with little change.  As the sun sets, temperatures will fall slightly, but the rain continues to be steady.

Finally, by 10 o’clock, showers begin to diminish in coverage, but that may be much too late for some of the younger trick or treaters.  This will certainly favor some of the adults who are also enjoying the holiday at an outdoor venue.  Rain will continue into early Sunday morning, but expect the heaviest between the hours of 4-10 P.M.  Showers will taper off into a heavy drizzle or light rain pattern into Sunday morning (where you also must set your clocks back an hour.)  Don’t worry if you forget, your phone should take care of that automatically for you.

2009 WSI Halloween

Here’s my forecast for Halloween night: I believe it will be slightly warmer than Future Track HD may indicate from the above graphics, but I certainly agree with the rainfall projections as a rainy Saturday is certainly in the cards from most of West Michigan.  Plan to have some waterproof part of your outfit or a plan B if you plan on trick or treating with the family for the holiday.  We’ll cross our fingers for a break in the rain, but plan accordingly.
