GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Police are investigating a case of racial vandalism on Grand Rapids’ Southast side. A family on Clearbrook Street SE found the graffiti Tuesday morning.

The family, who is white, says they don’t think they were targeted, but they do happen to live next to an African-American family.

The graffiti included a stick figure painted with X’s for eyes and the n-word on the road and a swastika and the words “White Power” on the garage door.

The family says the neighborhood is diverse and generally quiet, so the graffiti is surprising.

Anyone with information should call Grand Rapids Police at 616-456-3604.
