Man pleads guilty to murder, armed robbery in Brent Luttrell death

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Kevin Carson Berry pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder and armed robbery in connection with the 2014 death of Brent Luttrell.

Luttrell, 34, died Sept. 8, 2014 after being stabbed, shot and left in the middle of the road after attempting to get away during a home invasion.  He was sleeping at his home on Pinewood Street in Spencer Township when a group of men broke in, including Berry.

Berry, 22, will spend 35 years in prison as part of the plea deal before he is eligible for parole, according to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.   He will be sentenced Nov. 24.

Three other men are  serving prison time for Luttrell’s murder.

Jaman Parish and Isaac Fezzey were both convicted of felony murder and sentenced to life in prison in connection with the case, according to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.  Tyler Rohn pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to between 25 and 75 years in prison, according to the prosecutor’s office.
