MANISTEE, Mich. – This Halloween, it does appear that there were a couple of cases of razor blades hidden in trick-or-treat candy.

According to Manistee police, two families have reported finding small, but sharp razor blades in Halloween candy.  One was found in a piece of Laffy Taffy and one was in a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.  One was found by a parent on November 1st and the other was found by a different parent on November 2nd.

The kids who received the tampered candy live about two blocks apart and were trick-or-treating in the area of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Streets and the area of High and Vine streets.

Police say the blades appear to be the types of blades found in small pencil sharpeners.

Anyone with information should contact the Manistee Police Department at 231-723-2533.
