IONIA, Mich. — Two inmates were found in a prison yard Tuesday night during an attempted escape from the Michigan Reformatory, 1342 W. Main Street.
A patrolling guard discovered the inmates in the yard around 11 p.m., according to Michigan Department of Corrections spokesperson Chris Gautz.
According to Gautz, the inmates were apprehended without incident.
MDOC is investigating surveillance footage to attempt to determine how the inmates escaped their cells.
