GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The longtime owners of an Eastown coffee shop have announced they will be closing later this month and new tenants will be taking over the building.

“The mother/daughter team announce they will no longer be running the long standing coffee house and bakery. Two decades and millions of espresso shots later, the duo is ready to place the coveted location in new hands,” a Facebook post from Kava House reads.

Kava House, 1445 Lake Dr. SE, announced on Facebook that the new tenants of the location would be Rowster’s Coffee and chef Joel Wabeke.

Kava House’s last day will be Nov. 20.    An employee issued a statement to FOX 17 saying that the new tenants plan to renovate the location and re-open it as another coffee shop.
