WALKER, Mich – Federal authorities say a woman recently featured on West Michigan’s Most Wanted is back in custody after being caught during a shoplifting investigation in Walker on Saturday.

Walker officers were able to locate Rebecca Ryon, 26. in the parking lot of a retail shopping complex along Alpine Avenue just north of I-96 around 4:00 p.m. after an alert citizen kept her within eyesight until police arrived.

Ryon was found hiding in the parking lot and attempted to give uniformed officers a false identification when they first made contact.  Investigators say Ryon soon gave authorities her real identity, leading to her arrest.

Ryon had been wanted since the beginning of October after violating her parole.  She’ll now face charges for that along with new local charges following Saturday’s incident.

Ryon was most recently featured on West Michigan’s Most Wanted in late October.  She was also featured in December 2014, wanted at the time on a felony warrant for fraud and a civil warrant for contempt.  She was later arrested the same month thanks in part to a viewer tip after she was featured on FOX17.

Ryon is currently in custody at the Kent County Jail.
