GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Sometimes when you schedule big game coverage based on last year’s performances, you get a great chance to hype up a matchup all season.
And then, there is this week.
FOX network has dedicated its lead crew of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to this week’s Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers matchup and a good portion of the country gets (has to) watch it as well. With the Packers winning the division last year, the Lions making the playoffs last year and the Lions looking to break a 24 year streak of not winning in Green Bay, this probably looked like a good bet for a great match up before the season started. Sorry, rest of the country.
Go to Chicago and you will only get a late FOX game, Minnesota at Oakland, because the Bears at St. Louis are on in a good part of the country, including here, on CBS on Sunday at 1:00pm. CBS has the doubleheader and West Michigan will get the New England Patriots and New York Giants at 4:00pm.
