COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – The West Michigan Whitecaps have won a prestigious award for their home in Comstock Park.

Fifth Third Ballpark has been named 2015 Best Ballpark Improvements by BallparkDigest.com .

2014 began for the West Michigan Whitecaps with a huge fire that destroyed much of the first base side suites, visiting club house and many concessions facilities.  The staff got the ballpark in shape for the 2014 and continued improvements in 2015 netted the team the award.

“The ballpark improvements at Fifth Third Ballpark would be notable no matter the circumstances,” said Ballpark Digest Publisher Kevin Reichard on their website.  “That they came about after such a traumatic experience speaks well to the Whitecaps and the team’s commitment to fans.”
