Tyson recalls 52,000 pounds of chicken wings

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Tyson Foods is recalling over 52,000 pounds of chicken wings because of an “off odor.”

The recall is voluntarily and covers Tyson® Any’tizers® Fully Cooked Hot Wings® Buffalo Style Chicken Wing Sections sold in 28-ounce retail bags. The affected product was sold to retail stores nationwide.

Consumers reported the “off odor” to the company and the company decided that the wings do not meet Tyson Foods quality standards. The wings were produced on October 24 and 25 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Each 28-ounce bag affected in this recall bears the establishment code P-13456 above the heating instructions on the back of the bag and Product UPC 0 23700 01118 3 as well as date codes including “2975PBF05” or “2985PBF05.”  Additionally, each bag has a “Best if Used By” date of October 24, 2016 or October 25, 2016.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to eating this product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.  Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to eat them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
