Ceremonies across West Michigan to celebrate Michigan Adoption Day

LANSING, Mich.-- It's become a holiday tradition, helping children in the foster system find homes and families they can feel proud to be part of.

November is National Adoption Awareness Month, with November 24th named Michigan Adoption Day.

Adoption celebrations will be going on across the state to raise awareness of the needs of foster children and educate people on the benefits of adoption.

According to the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange,each year, more than 3,000 children in Michigan are waiting for permanent, loving homes to call their own.

Kalamazoo, Ottawa and Van Buren are just some of the counties hosting adoption day ceremonies. Click herefor a full list.
