ROCKFORD, Mich. — At least one person suffered burn injuries following a fire at the Harvest Hill apartment complex in Rockford.

Rockford Police said they were called to the scene in the 100 block of Childsdale NE Friday afternoon. One person was reported to have been burned, but it is not known how severely.

Officials told our crew at the scene there were eight apartments in the building. All of them were evacuated and unlivable due to smoke damage. The Red Cross was also helping residents find places to stay.

Investigators could not immediately determine a cause, but we’re told there was some sort of explosion inside one of the units.
