PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say the death of a woman who climbed a fence to get into a Port Huron backyard and was attacked by dogs has been ruled a suicide.

Ray Jankowski, an investigator for the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office, says Wednesday that Rebecca Hardy’s death was caused by multiple injuries. He says he couldn’t say what led to the determination that the 22-year-old’s death was a suicide.

The Times Herald of Port Huron earlier reported the update on the case. The Associated Press left a message seeking an update from police.

Police have said it’s unclear why Hardy, whose fiance lives on the same street, entered the yard. She was attacked last week by a pit bull and a pit bull-husky mix. Three dogs, including a puppy, have been euthanized.
