LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Calhoun County Sheriff's deputy, who was off-duty, has been arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence.

The sheriff's office says that the deputy was found unresponsive behind the wheel of a personal vehicle at the intersection of 4 Mile Road and "H" Drive South in Leroy Township.

The deputy was arrested and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail.  Investigators have not yet determined charges.

The Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton said in a press release that the deputy will be treated the same as any private citizen.  The deputy has been placed on administrative leave with pay while the office investigates, which is the guidelines as written in the union contract.

We'll have more details when they become available.
