BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich – A fugitive named during a Silent Observer push to raise awareness about domestic violence in October has been arrested following a traffic stop in Berrien County.

Phillip Washington, 32, was taken into custody by deputies on Monday.  He was later transferred to the Kent County Jail by Grand Rapids Police.

Washington was wanted on a felony strangulation charge.  He was one of 24 suspects named in a domestic violence awareness campaign by Silent Observer in October.  To date, only three of the 24 initial suspects named in that campaign remain at-large.
