Man shot behind restaurant, not cooperating with police

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man was shot behind a restaurant on the city’s southwest side Sunday night.

Grand Rapids Police told FOX 17 the victim, a man in his 20s, was shot behind Tacos El Cunado on Grandville Avenue SW just before 8 p.m.

The man left the scene and later showed up to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive, according to police.

“I don’t know if it was a meet up, this was arranged, or this is a group of people that knew each other or not.They ended up at El Cunado. As far as I can tell, they aren’t patrons of this place or anything related to El Cunado,” said Sgt. Neil Gomez with the GRPD.

Police said the victim and witnesses on scene were not cooperating with investigators.

No arrests have been made.
