Woman hospitalized after Grand Rapids fire

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman was hospitalized Friday after a fire in the 400 block of Oakhurst Avenue NW.

The fire was reported at about 5 p.m. after people saw the woman calling for help from a window, according to Grand Rapids Fire Department officials at the scene.

Emergency responders performed CPR on the woman before she was transported to the hospital.  Her current condition is unknown at this time.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze before it completely destroyed the home.   The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
