Battle Creek Police capture home invasion suspect

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. —  Police arrested a 31-year-old male for allegedly breaking into a woman’s home Saturday morning.

Battle Creek Police said they received a call at 4:25 a.m. from the first block of Charlotte Street. The female homeowner was asleep but woke up to find a man located at the end of her bed.

The man fled when he realized she was awake. A police K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

Police received information about a possible suspect Saturday night.  Authorities interviewed a witness and a suspect, which lead to the arrest of a 31-year-old male for home invasion.

Police report that nothing was stolen and no one was injured.

The suspect is currently in custody.
