GRAND RAPIDS — The coldest air of the season will move into West Michigan after the snow tapers off on Monday morning. Afternoon highs will only be in the lower to middle 20s tomorrow. The last time we saw a day that cold was all the way back on March 6, 2015 when the mercury only climbed to 24°. Along with the cold air, winds will also be from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 mph, giving us wind chills in the teens.

With clear skies and light winds tomorrow night, expect the coldest overnight lows we’ve experienced since March 28th. The forecast low is 11° for Tuesday morning, and some outlying areas may drop into the single digits. Fortunately, winds will be light so wind chills won’t be much of a factor.

The bottom line is this: dress for the conditions Monday and Tuesday morning, and make sure your kids are dressed for the cold temperatures as well. Dress in layers, and make sure to wear a hat and gloves.

If you’re a fan of the mild temperatures that we’ve gotten so accustomed to this “winter”, that type of air will be returning toward the end of the week. Click on the video for a look at your extended forecast.
