Abdur-Rahkman’s career night not enough, Michigan loses at (20) Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored a career-high 25 points, but Purdue ended the first half on a 16-5 run, then pulled away in the second with a 12-0 run, handing Michigan their first Big Ten loss of the season, 87-70 on Thursday night.

Derrick Walton added 12 points and Duncan Robinson chipped in 10 for the Wolverines (12-4, 2-1).

A.J. Hammons led the Boilermakers (14-2, 2-1) with 17 points.

Michigan hosts third-ranked Maryland (14-1, 3-0) on Tuesday night in Ann Arbor.
