GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Two people are recovering after an overnight fire on Grand Rapids SE side.

The fire happened at about 12:30am at a home on Sigsbee, just south of Wealthy Street.

Grand  Rapids Police say the fire started after an explosion in the home.  Christopher Regan, 37, suffered critical injuries in the explosion and is being treated at an area hospital.  A second man - John Toschlog, 29 - was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.

A 29-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy were in the home but not injured.

Police say that the home not only had a marijuana grow operation inside, but also a fish farm.  The GRPD Vice Unit has seized the drug materials and is investigating the incident.

Anyone with further information is asked to call GRPD at 456-3400 or Silent Observer at 774-2345.

Fire crews also tell us that they were hampered by freezing temperatures and residents who did not honor the city's odd-even parking ordinance overnight.
