Police: Driver seriously injured in car crash

WYOMING, Mich. — One person suffered severe injuries following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning.

The crash happened 10:45 Saturday morning near 44th Street and Clay Avenue SW, according to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety.

Witnesses told officers a Buick heading westbound ran a red light and struck a Chevrolet at the intersection driving northbound.

According to investigators, the driver of the Buick is 23-year-old Aaron Calderon-Parade was unconscious at the scene and was taken to a local hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Two passengers in the car were also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The 21-year-old driver of the car that was struck did not seek any medical attention but the passenger in that vehicle was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Investigators are currently trying to determine if any factors contributed to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
