SAGINAW, Mich. —An AMBER Alert for 2-year-old Mileah Hill has ended after Michigan State Police say the girl and her teenage cousin were found safe.

Hill was allegedly kidnapped by Makayla Williams, her 15-year-old cousin, overnight in Saginaw.

According to Saginaw Police, Williams and Hill were both located in the Grand Rapids area Tuesday.

The two left some time late Monday or early Tuesday from the 1500 block of Walnut in the city of Saginaw, according to police. Parents Mario Williams and Amber Gustafson told FOX 17 their daughter Makayla had run away from home Christmas Day and was staying with Mario’s younger cousin’s family in Saginaw.

The parents said Makayla is being held at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center. They discussed how Makayla has run away from home in the past because of having her cell phone taken away. Williams believes this played a role in this Amber Alert, after he said his cousin took away Makayla’s phone after finding alarming messages.

“I got a call [from my cousin] that she was in contact with this guy on Facebook,” said Williams.

“She was found recording the little girl before the incident, saying that this is our baby, and the guy responded that, ‘yeah she’s sexy just like you are.’ I mean this is what I heard from my cousin, and that was a red flag. If I would have seen her with a phone, she couldn’t have no phone around me,” he said.

Williams said Mileah’s family is expected to arrive in Grand Rapids from Saginaw this evening.
