The battle for sole possession of first place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association was settled early at DeVos Fieldhouse on Wednesday.

Fourth-ranked Hope jumped out to a 36-15 halftime lead on their way to a 79-47 win over 15th-ranked Calvin, launching the Dutch to 16-0 this season.

The Knights suffered their first loss of the MIAA schedule and are now 7-1 in league play.
