Man dead after crashing into tree in Calhoun County

MARSHALL TWP, Mich. — Calhoun County deputies are reporting that a man died Thursday afternoon after his vehicle crashed into a tree.

It happened on 12 Mile Road, about half a mile south of A Drive North around 2 PM. A vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Marshall man was heading south when he left the east side of the road and hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending positive identification by the medical examiner.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The incident is under investigation.
